Minisrer of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola, has forced partnership with Denmark’s Minister for Business and Competitiveness, Martin Lidegaard, and key players in the Danish maritime sector in a move to deepen investment, technology transfer, skills development and sustainable growth.
The Minister revealed this in a statement on his X social media handle on Thursday, stating that the meeting held in Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital City.
He said Nigeria has moved beyond building institutional framework for the sector and is now focused on developing bankable projects, mobilising investment, improving performance and creating quality jobs.
“From ports and logistics to shipbuilding, maritime services, digital technology, fisheries, green shipping, renewable energy, marine infrastructure and multimodal connectivity, the opportunities are vast.
“With our extensive coastline, inland waterways, strategic position in West and Central Africa and the scale of our economy, Nigeria offers significant potential for long-term commercial returns,” he said.
Oyetola welcomed Danish businesses and investors ready to bring capital, technology, expertise and innovation into Nigeria’s maritime transformation.
“Our goal is to move from broad commitments to practical partnerships and bankable projects that deliver measurable economic value for both Nigeria and Denmark,” he stated.
