Victoria Falls, located on the Zambezi River, straddles the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, making it one of the world’s largest and most breathtaking waterfalls.
Accessible from both Victoria Falls Town in Zimbabwe and Livingstone in Zambia, this stunning natural wonder is a must-visit for travelers.
Stretching an impressive 1,708 meters wide, Victoria Falls ranks among the broadest waterfalls globally. It forms part of the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia and the Victoria Falls National Park in Zimbabwe.
The area is not only renowned for its majestic cascades but also for the diverse ecosystems it supports, including several gorges that serve as breeding grounds for endangered bird species.
Visitors can marvel at the enchanting rainbows and the mesmerizing mist and spray that characterize this iconic site.
The falls were named by the Scottish explorer David Livingstone, who chose the English name in honor of Queen Victoria. Locally, they are known as “Mosi-oa-Tunya,” which translates to “Smoke that Thunders,” aptly describing the powerful roar of the water as it plunges into the gorge below.
Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the region surrounding Victoria Falls is rich in biodiversity, attracting nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.

This exhilarating experience is available from mid-August to mid-January, allowing visitors to safely enjoy the breathtaking views from one of the most spectacular vantage points in the world.
