Hardship: Abuja Residents Loot NEMA Warehouse

In the face of harship especially in the hike in food commodities, residents in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) took matters into their own hands as they raided a warehouse believed to belong to the National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria (NEMA) on Sunday morning.

The warehouse, is located in Karimo, Phase 3 Region of Abuja.

It is believed that foodstuffs and other items were reportedly targeted by the residents who made off with various goods.

In response to the incident, Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, confirmed the incident and said police officers have been swiftly deployed to the area.

She assured that the situation had been brought under control.

“The situation is now under control,” stated Adeh.
