Gov Obaseki picks trash as he joins Edo youths on environmental sanitation

By Ben Atonko

Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has joined Edo youths to clean up the state.
The governor and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, were seen picking up trash in Benin and clearing waterways as part of the flag-off of Cleanup Edo, a program aimed at keeping the state clean.
Many have described the governor’s action as leadership by example.
Yet some have called it eye service. “If you check around, you will see hundreds of security guards around him,” someone commented.
A resident of Benin said, “I wish Nigerians will stick this into their heads not to litter or dispose dirt just anywhere.”
