BATN Foundation celebrated the winners of the 2026 edition of its Farmers for the Future (F4F) Programme, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing the next generation of agripreneurs while strengthening its longstanding partnership with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The programme, implemented in partnership with the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Department (SAED), NYSC, equips corps members with practical agribusiness skills, mentorship, and access to grants designed to help them build and scale their sustainable agricultural enterprises.

At the conclusion of the highly competitive 2026 edition, six outstanding young entrepreneurs emerged as winners for their innovative agribusiness ventures and its demonstrated potential to contribute to Nigeria’s food security and economic development.

Emerging as the overall winner was Olufemi Dominic Fabian, founder of DOHA Prime Venture (FishTrackPro), an agritech solution that helps fish farmers improve productivity through data-driven farm management and monitoring systems. He received a grant award of ₦3 million.

The second-place prizes of ₦2 million each were awarded to Temitope Adewole, founder of Apem Soupmix, a food processing business producing natural powdered soup mixes, and Abdulwaheed Bala, founder of NutriSoy, a soybean processing enterprise focused on value-added food products.

Third-place winners included Olanike Mayungbe of NutririteFoods, an agricultural produce processing business; IoremberIorsue of Unku Charles Maize Farm, a maize production enterprise; and Kingsley Udoeyen of Salwel Foods, a nutrition-focused food processing business producing value-added products from grains and legumes.

The winning ventures reflect the diversity and innovation emerging across Nigeria’s agricultural value chain, spanning agritech, aquaculture, food processing, crop production, and value addition. Through their businesses, these young entrepreneurs are developing practical solutions that address challenges related to productivity, nutrition, post-harvest losses, and market access.

The official presentation of cheques took place in Abuja during the 2026 Batch C Pre-Orientation Workshop of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). The cheque presentation was conducted by the Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, who congratulated the winners and reaffirmed the importance of empowering young Nigerians through agriculture and entrepreneurship.

In his remarks, Brigadier General O.O Nafiu commended the Foundation’s continued investment in youth empowerment through agriculture and urged all NYSC State Coordinators and SAED officials present at the workshop to actively promote the Farmers for the Future Programme during Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) lectures. He encouraged them to sensitize corps members on the opportunities available through the initiative and mobilize greater participation in the 2027 edition.

The event further underscores the longstanding partnership between BATN Foundation and the NYSC in creating opportunities for corps members to develop viable agribusiness enterprises and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s food security and economic development.

For the past seven (7) years, Farmers for the Future has served as a platform for identifying, developing, and supporting promising young agripreneurs across the country. By combining training, mentorship, business development support, and grant funding, the programme continues to inspire corps members to view agriculture as a viable and rewarding pathway to entrepreneurship.

The 2026 winners join a growing community of young agribusiness owners whose enterprises are contributing to job creation, increased productivity, and food security in communities across Nigeria.

Through its continued partnership with the NYSC, BATN Foundation remains committed to supporting innovative youth-led agricultural enterprises and helping young Nigerians transform ideas into thriving businesses capable of delivering lasting economic and social impact.
