Queen Blessing foundation empowers widows, inspires young girls nationwide
By Abbas Nazil
Nollywood actress and AMP President, Ambassador Dr Queen Blessing Ebigieson, is set to host hundreds of widows and elderly women this Valentine’s Day through her Non-Governmental Organisation, the Queen Blessing Foundation (QBF).
The 16th edition of the annual event focuses on celebrating widows while also creating opportunities for young girls to learn about independence, responsibility, and self-empowerment.
Ebigieson explained that the foundation not only provides emotional and material support to widows but also serves as a platform to guide younger generations on how to navigate life challenges and become confident, self-sufficient women.
This year’s celebration will take place at her country home in Okpella, Afemai land, Edo State, bringing together women from diverse backgrounds to share experiences and support one another.
According to Ebigieson, affection and genuine care are at the heart of the foundation’s mission, emphasizing that society must uplift vulnerable women while inspiring younger ones to build resilience and independence.
Young girls attending the event are expected to benefit from mentorship sessions, practical advice, and motivational interactions, reinforcing the idea that learning from the experiences of older women can empower them to make smart life choices.
Ebigieson, fondly called the Black Queen, highlighted that running such an initiative annually comes with challenges, but the long-term impact on both widows and young girls makes it worthwhile.
The Queen Blessing Foundation blends social responsibility with youth empowerment, creating a space where older women’s struggles are acknowledged while young women gain insight into independence, leadership, and personal growth.
The event also offers a chance for volunteers and supporters to engage with young participants, demonstrating the importance of giving back to society and building a culture of empathy and mentorship.
By focusing on education and personal development for young girls alongside aid for widows, the foundation encourages the youth to take initiative in their communities and understand the value of compassion, leadership, and resilience.
Ebigieson believes that empowering young girls today ensures a generation of women who can positively impact society tomorrow while remaining aware of the struggles of those who came before them.
The Valentine’s Day edition will combine celebration, guidance, and social support, highlighting the foundation’s unique approach to connecting youth empowerment with community care.
Through QBF, Ebigieson continues to inspire not just widows but also young people, showing that meaningful change comes from using one’s influence to nurture, educate, and uplift others.
The initiative reinforces the message that mentorship and support for vulnerable women can coexist with youth education, making the foundation a platform for learning, growth, and lasting societal impact.
This 16th edition promises to leave a lasting impression on both the widows and the young girls, teaching lessons in resilience, independence, and the power of giving back.
