The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation geared towards improving Nigeria’s energy security.
A statement by the NNPC Limited on Monday, notified that the commitment was made during a recent meeting between the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Engr. Bashir Ojulari, and the Chief Executive Officer of NMDPRA, Mallam Rabiu Umar, in Abuja.
According to the statement, the meeting provided an opportunity for both organisations to discuss issues of mutual interest and explore ways to sustain their partnership in developing Nigeria’s petroleum industry.
Both organisations stressed the importance of continued collaboration, particularly in the midstream and downstream sectors, which they noted, play key roles in the supply, distribution and availability of petroleum products across the country.
The two organisations noted that stronger cooperation between the national oil company and the regulatory authority would support the growth and development of these critical sectors.
Their engagement also highlighted the need for sustained partnerships among key players in the petroleum industry to address challenges affecting the sector and strengthen the country’s energy supply.
The renewed commitment to cooperation is expected to support efforts to improve the performance of the midstream and downstream sectors and advance Nigeria’s broader energy security objectives.
