As unemployment continue to increase in the country, Moringa farmers persuade youths to get involved in farming, to generate income and improve their livelihood.
The farmers under the aegis of Eden Group Farmers and Multipurpose Cooperative Society, during a briefing in Abuja on Saturday, said cultivation of the Moringa leaves has the capacity to lift many out of poverty.
The President of the group, Dr. Michael Ashimasiga noted that the association in partnership with their international partners would offer the sum of N50, 000 for one plot of land of Moringa dry leaf.
While complaining on the countless of challenges affecting the nation, Ashimasiga said if provided the enabling environment to thrive, Moringa alone could turn all the negative indices to positive solutions for the country.
He however, urged investors and farmers not to be discouraged in investing and cultivating Moringa, to meet global demand, saying the product still remain sought after across the world.
Ashimasiga called on Nigerians to participate in the upcoming workshop and exhibition organised to enlighten Nigerians on the cultivation, utilisation and benefits of Moringa.
The workshop with the theme: “Harnessing economic potentials, entrepreneurship opportunities and health benefits of Moringa,” is planned to provide practical solution to the rejections of Nigerian agricultural products, practical solution to outbreak of diseases, solutions to unemployment, poverty and health challenges, among others.
The seminar is scheduled for April 12-14, at the international stadium, Abuja.
