Nasarawa state governor, Abdullahi Sule has flagged off the N2 billion Gudi – Moroa road project in Gudi, Akwanga local government area of the state.
Speaking on Saturday at the flag off ceremony, the governor reiterated his commitment to improve the agricultural system in the state.
He added that the government will also pay more attention to rural infrastructure and tackle insecurity in the remaining two years of his administration.
He explained that access road network remains a cardinal factor towards enhancing economic growth and prosperity given the enormous agricultural and mineral endowment in the rural areas across the state.
The governor who commissioned a 17-kilometer Gudi – Moroa road said it would link so many farming communities from Nasarawa state to Kaduna state, Blueprint reports.
He said, “It would be recalled that during my presentation of the 2021 budget to the state Assembly, I re-echoed our desire to sustain the provision of road infrastructure in the state in line with our policy of bringing government closer to the people as well as open up the state to investors with the view of improving the economic well being of our people. It is for this reason that we decided to award this 17km Gudi-Moroa road at a total cost of N1,836,074,573.03,” he said.
“The neighborhood market will consist of 52 lock up shops, 54 open market stores, 26 warehouses, administrative block, security post, public toilets, a restaurant among others.
“The upgrade of markets in the state is part of my administration’s commitment to enhance socio-economic activities of the people for the overall development of the state,” Sule said.
