Goldenseal, also called Hydrastis canadensis, is a perennial herb which originated in North America. Its roots are highly valued for their great medicinal properties.

Goldenseal is composed of a compound known as berberine, which contains potent antimicrobial properties and has been used in traditional medicine to fight infections caused by bacteria, fungi, and parasites.

It is made up of immune-enhancing properties which helps to strengthen the immune system and improve overall immune function.

It is believed that Goldenseal impact the digestive system positively as it improve digestion, alleviate gastrointestinal issues like constipation and diarrhea, and promote a healthy gut.

The berberine compound found in goldenseal has shown anti-inflammatory properties, potentially reducing inflammation within the body and providing relief for conditions such as arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease.

Goldenseal has been traditionally used to support respiratory health. It can help soothe sore throats, alleviate coughs, and assist in managing respiratory infections.

It is used topically to treat various skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties can help reduce inflammation and prevent infection.

Goldenseal helps to prevent irritatios in the eye as it is used as an eyewash to reduce infections of the eye such as conjunctivitis and other eye-related issues.

It serves as a natural antibiotic by inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria, making it a natural alternative to conventional antibiotics.

Goldenseal has a long history of being used as a digestive tonic, supporting the liver, gallbladder, and overall digestive system function. It may improve the blood sugar control and insulin sensitivity, making it potentially beneficial for individuals with diabetes or prediabetes.
