Fire service boss warns against attack on trucks, officials

By Bisola Adeyemo

Dr Liman Ibrahim, Controller-General, Federal Fire Service (FFS), has warned Nigerians from attacking firefighters during fire any emergencies, saying they should be appreciative and be supportive

Ibrahim said this on Tuesday while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the commemoration of the 2021 International Fire Fighters Day.

The day is marked every May 4th globally, in honour of firefighters.

The FFS boss said Nigerians need to stop destroying fire trucks at fire scenes as it was a disincentive to the firemen. Daily post reports

Dr Ibrahim said the May 4 international holiday for firefighters was to honour them, dead or alive for risking their lives while saving others.

He said, “they might be no more, but they remain alive in the hearts of those for whom they sacrificed their lives.’’

Ibrahim appreciated Nigerian firemen at all levels for ensuring the safety of lives and properties.
