The major roads of Mosogar Community in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State were shot down by the youths of the area at the weekend who were protesting over the issue of light in the area.

The youths who were seen in the palace of the Ovie of Mosogar kingdom, HRM Samson Omene, Udurhie 1 of Mosogar said that they were tired of living in total darkness.

The youths said that they had been living without light in the area for the past eight years, saying that they were tired of living in darkness.

While moving along every part of the kingdom with a lot of convoys, the residents said that they were ready to continue with their protest even against the announcement from the palace kicking against it.

One of the residents, who was also among the protesters, Mr. Suleman Peters said that they were not happy being in total blackout for the past eight years. He said that protest would be very hot, saying that they were hoping to get good news from the appropriate authorities.

The Ovie appealed to them to calm down, assuring that light would be restored to the area.

The residents and youths of the area called on the government to also come to their aid, saying that the amount of money they had spent on fuel in running their power generating sets was alarming.

They noted that there was no way they could survive without light, lamenting that businesses were affected and by extension their source of living.
