Dangote refinery to begin nationwide distribution of PMS and Diesel August 15

By Abbas Nazil
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced it will commence nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel beginning August 15, 2025.
The initiative aims to transform Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector by enhancing fuel availability, reducing distribution costs, and boosting economic productivity across key sectors.
In a major logistics upgrade, the company is deploying 4,000 new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers and over 100 CNG distribution trucks to support a seamless rollout, with free transportation services offered to fuel buyers.
Target beneficiaries of the distribution include petrol marketers, dealers, manufacturers, telecommunications firms, aviation operators, and other large-scale fuel users.
The distribution programme is designed not only to ensure reliable product delivery across the country, but also to support Nigeria’s transition toward cleaner energy solutions.
Additionally, the refinery is investing in daughter booster CNG stations across the country to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of product delivery.
In a bold move to support fuel accessibility and affordability, all petrol stations and major users who purchase fuel from Dangote Petroleum Refinery will benefit from this new logistics support system.
This is expected to significantly lower transportation costs for fuel users, which will in turn reduce production and service delivery costs in critical sectors like manufacturing and telecommunications.
The initiative is also expected to drive down inflation, create new jobs, and spur business growth, especially among small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
A key feature of the distribution programme includes a credit facility for bulk buyers.
Any entity purchasing a minimum of 500,000 litres of PMS or diesel will qualify for an additional 500,000 litres on credit, repayable within two weeks under a bank guarantee.
This flexible credit offering is designed to support operational liquidity for businesses and large fuel retailers, further strengthening their capacity to operate efficiently.
Dangote Refinery’s nationwide fuel distribution strategy is aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and is expected to revitalise dormant fuel stations, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
The initiative also supports the Federal Government’s Naira-for-Crude scheme, aimed at stabilising domestic fuel supply in the face of global price volatility.
By removing logistical bottlenecks and providing direct access to fuel at competitive rates, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery is set to revolutionise fuel access and distribution in Nigeria.
Registration and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes for prospective buyers will run from June 16 to August 15, 2025.
Interested stakeholders are encouraged to register within the 60-day window to be part of this transformative energy initiative.
With this ambitious rollout, Dangote Refinery reinforces its commitment to building a resilient, efficient, and inclusive energy sector that works for all Nigerians—urban and rural alike—while positioning Nigeria on a stronger economic path with sustainable fuel solutions.
