Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) has denied media reports linking it to an alleged oil spill affecting communities in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
In a statement released by the company, CNL, which operates a joint venture with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, said there is no ongoing spill from its Berth Offshore Platform (BOP) in the area.
“The allegation of an oil spill in our BOP in Ondo State is not true,” the company stated.
Chevron emphasized its commitment to environmental protection, regulatory compliance, and safe operations.
It also reaffirmed its dedication to the socio-economic development of communities near its operational sites.
The company maintained that it operates responsibly and in accordance with industry and environmental standards.
