By Chisom Ibemere

Amla is also called Indian gooseberry or Emblica officinalis. It is a cherished fruit especially in Ayurvedic medicine because of its numerous health benefits.

Using it to prepare Amla juice is a one of the amazing ways to consume this fruit which offers great nutritional and health benefits.

Amla is an amazing source of vitamin C, with more vitamin C content than oranges which helps to boost the immune system, promote collagen production, and protect against infections and free radicals.

It is loaded with antioxidants that combat oxidative stress and minimize skin damage caused by pollution, stress, and aging.

Amla when consumed, aid digestion due to its ability to promote the secretion of gastric and digestive enzymes which prevents constipation, and improve overall gut health. It is a natural detoxifier as it helps to eliminate toxins from the body and supports liver health.

The antioxidants in amla juice help reduce the risk of heart disease by lowering cholesterol levels, improving blood circulation, and reducing inflammation in the arteries.

Amla has low calories and high fiber content, which can aid in weight management by promoting satiety, improving metabolism, and reducing cravings.

It can promote healthier skin by improving skin texture, reducing blemishes, acne, and pigmentation, and delaying the signs of aging.

The antioxidants in amla helps protect the brain cells from damage, improve cognitive function, boost memory, and reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and dementia.
