A renewable energy investment firm, All On, has pledged to increase investments and support innovations aimed at expanding clean and sustainable energy access across Nigeria, particularly in underserved rural communities.
The company made the commitment during its 10th anniversary celebration tagged “A Decade of Impact with All On at 10 Hackathon,” an initiative designed to inspire young Nigerians to develop practical solutions for the country’s clean energy challenges.
Chief Executive Officer of All On, Caroline Eboumbou, said the organisation’s decade-long journey has focused on investing in people, businesses and strategic partnerships that are improving energy access across Nigeria.
She explained that the hackathon reflected the company’s belief that the next phase of Nigeria’s clean energy transition would depend not only on financial investments but also on empowering young innovators capable of developing sustainable solutions.
According to her, All On Partnerships for Energy Access was established to accelerate the growth of Nigeria’s off-grid energy sector by supporting businesses that provide affordable, reliable and environmentally friendly energy solutions for households and small enterprises.
She noted that the organisation provides funding through debt and equity investments, alongside technical and non-financial support, to Nigerian energy companies working to reduce the country’s energy access gap through renewable energy technologies.
Eboumbou said the company’s focus has remained on creating opportunities for young people to build solutions that address real-life challenges while developing the skills, leadership and entrepreneurship required to drive Nigeria’s future energy sector.
The anniversary hackathon brought together students from the University of Lagos, Lagos State University, Yaba College of Technology and other institutions, who competed to design innovative clean energy solutions.
Participants were divided into six multidisciplinary teams tasked with developing ideas focused on areas such as healthcare, education, agriculture, fisheries, cold-chain logistics and productive energy use.
The company said the competition was structured to encourage collaboration, creativity and entrepreneurship while challenging participants to produce solutions that were technically effective, commercially viable, financially sustainable and capable of generating social impact.
The team known as “Current Creators” emerged as the winner of the competition with its innovation, ColdLink, an integrated digital platform designed to improve renewable-powered cold-chain logistics.
The solution combines real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, fleet management and energy performance tracking to strengthen cold storage systems, reduce post-harvest losses and improve the efficiency of clean energy-powered infrastructure.
All On said initiatives such as the hackathon would continue to support the development of Nigeria’s clean energy ecosystem by connecting young innovators with opportunities to transform ideas into scalable solutions.
The firm reaffirmed its commitment to promoting renewable energy investments, supporting local entrepreneurs and contributing to efforts aimed at achieving broader energy access and sustainability across Nigeria.
