NSC Boss Assures Of Continued Support Of Operations At Lekki Deep Sea Port

Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Barr. Pius Akutah, has assured of the agency’s continued support to the activities of the Lekki Deep Sea Port.
This is as the NSC Boss also informed that activities of the Council promotes seamless movement of cargoes as well as efficiency of the nation’s ports.
Akutah gave the assurance when the Management Team of the Lekki Deep Sea Port led by the Managing Director of the Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise Limited (LPLEL), Mr. Du- Ruogang paid him a courtesy visit in Lagos, last week.
Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise Limited (LPLEL) are promoters of the Lekki Deep Sea Port.
The NSC Boss reiterated that as Port Economic Regulator the NSC will not relent in its responsibilities.
This was made known in a statement by the Deputy Director, Public Relations Unit, Rakiya Dhikru-Yagboyaju of the NSC.
Akutah also appreciated the management of Lekki Deep Sea Port for the visit and expressed the Council’s readiness to partner with the port in the areas that will boost their operations in the country.
Speaking earlier, Du-Ruogang said that Lekki Deep seaport has been adding value to Nigeria’s economy since it started commercial operations in 2023, due to its ability to receive large vessels.
The LPLEL boss, who congratulated Barr. Akutah on his appointment as the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Shippers’ Council, commended the Council’s regulatory activities at the nation’s ports.
He also appreciated the unflinching support that the management of Lekki Port has been receiving from Nigerian Shippers’ Council.
He called for continuity of the support as it is in the interest of both parties and indeed Nigeria, to make Nigeria the maritime hub for West and Central Africa.
