The Nigerian Association of Energy Correspondents (NAEC) has announced October 9, 2025, as the date for its annual energy conference, with the theme: “Nigeria’s Energy Future: Exploring Opportunities, Addressing Risks for Sustainable Growth.”

The event will be held at Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos.

NAEC Chairman, Mr. Ugo Amadi, said in a statement on June 1 that the 2025 edition will be a comprehensive dialogue on Nigeria’s evolving energy landscape, especially amid the global shift towards cleaner energy.

Keynote speakers include Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas); Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil); Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power; and CBN Governor, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso.

Representatives from the International Energy Agency (IEA), OPEC, international oil companies, and national oil firms are also expected to attend.

Dr. Adeola Yusuf, Chairman of the 2025 Conference Planning Committee, said the conference aims to bring together stakeholders, experts, and policymakers to examine investment opportunities, regulatory challenges, and innovation in Nigeria’s energy sector.

Discussion topics will include Nigeria’s regulatory framework, the impact of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), and the role of key regulatory bodies like the NUPRC, NMDPRA, NCDMB, and NERC in boosting investor confidence.

The event will feature panel sessions on financing and gas investment opportunities, with a focus on infrastructure development, PPPs, and innovative funding models.

A separate session will address challenges in the power sector, renewable energy integration, and the use of technology for energy efficiency.

The conference will conclude with a comprehensive report outlining policy recommendations, investment insights, and a roadmap for sustainable energy growth in Nigeria.
