Dorsch Gruppe, a German consulting firm, has joined forces with the Egyptian Consulting Group (ECG) to enhance water solutions in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) in Upper Egypt.
The recent partnership aims to revolutionize water management through innovative technologies and expertise.
The joint venture, established by Dorsch Gruppe and ECG, is set to provide cutting-edge water management services to over 6.5 million residents across 21 residential areas within the NAC.
The collaboration will introduce state-of-the-art solutions including smart meters for utility billing and collection to ensure the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
ACUD, the Administrative Capital for Urban Development overseeing the NAC project, emphasizes the significance of leveraging digitization for efficient water management to enhance residents’ comfort.
Their ambitious goal is to decrease water network losses to a mere 7% in the NAC, ultimately benefiting the growing population projected to reach between 18 and 40 million by 2025.
One notable aspect of the initiative involves the installation of a double 1,500 mm diameter concrete pipeline, extending 6.5 km.
This infrastructure enhancement, executed by Hassan Allam Holding under a contract awarded in October 2022, will reinforce the supply of irrigation water in response to water stress challenges faced in the region.
Khaled Abbas, ACUD’s engineer and CEO, expresses confidence in achieving efficient and sustainable water management in the NAC, emphasizing the critical importance of preserving water as a vital resource for the community.
