Possible Electric Mobility has unveiled a large-scale electric vehicle charging hub in Abuja, describing it as Africa’s biggest EV charging facility with the capacity to power over 1,000 vehicles daily.
The company, in a statement released on Thursday, said the project is close to full operation and is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s growing electric mobility sector while supporting the transition to cleaner transportation.
According to the firm, the charging hub is designed to support heavy daily operations for electric buses and commercial fleets, making it one of the highest-capacity EV charging facilities globally.
The development comes amid Federal Government policies aimed at boosting electric vehicle adoption, including the removal of import duties on EVs and mass transit buses. Industry stakeholders say the incentives have improved affordability and encouraged investment in charging infrastructure.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Possible Electric Mobility, Mosope Olaosebikan, said the project is focused on building a scalable electric transport ecosystem in Nigeria.
He noted that the company’s integrated model combines vehicle financing, charging infrastructure powered by Charging-as-a-Service, and fleet maintenance solutions to ease the transition for transport operators.
Analysts said expanding charging infrastructure is essential for the deployment of electric buses across major cities as Nigeria seeks to reduce transport costs, lower emissions, and cut dependence on fossil fuels.
Possible Electric Mobility added that it plans to expand its charging network across Nigeria and other parts of West Africa as demand for sustainable transportation grows.
