By Bisola Adeyemo

Algeria in collaboration with China pharmaceutical companies will begin producing Chinese-developed Sinovac vaccines for its use and other African countries.

Algeria also on Wednesday revealed plans to start producing Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine by the end of this year.

According to BBC, the production will start today (Wednesday) in partnership with China and state pharmaceutical products company Saidal.

The country plans to produce one million doses in October, two million in November and three million in December.

The goal is to produce five million doses per month starting from January 2022.

The government plans to vaccinate 70% of the country’s 45 million people.
