One of the most remarkable humanitarian interventions under Dr. Adamu’s administration is the hospital’s policy of offering every newly registered patient 48 hours of free treatment, ensuring that people requiring urgent medical attention are not denied care because of financial constraints.
The initiative has provided relief to countless vulnerable families and reflects her belief that access to quality healthcare should begin with compassion and humanity.
Driven by her conviction that healthy people thrive in a healthy environment, Dr. Adamu commenced a comprehensive assessment of the hospital’s infrastructure and operational systems immediately after assuming office. 
The exercise laid the foundation for far-reaching reforms that have improved healthcare delivery while creating a safer, cleaner and more sustainable hospital environment.
A major environmental milestone under her administration was the installation of solar-hybrid power systems, reducing the hospital’s dependence on conventional electricity while ensuring uninterrupted power supply for critical healthcare services.
The investment has strengthened healthcare delivery, lowered environmental impact and demonstrated the role renewable energy can play in building resilient public health institutions.
She also spearheaded the provision of four functional boreholes and extensive water pipe reticulation across major hospital units, guaranteeing reliable access to clean and safe water for patients, healthcare workers and visitors.
The intervention has strengthened hygiene, sanitation and infection prevention while improving the quality of healthcare services.
Recognising the therapeutic value of nature, Dr. Adamu encouraged tree planting and developed patient-friendly green spaces across the hospital.
The greener environment has improved air quality, provided natural shade and created a more conducive atmosphere for healing while reinforcing environmental consciousness within the hospital community.
Her administration further strengthened environmental sanitation, healthcare waste management and infection prevention systems, ensuring cleaner surroundings that protect patients, staff and visitors from avoidable health risks.
Beyond environmental improvements within the hospital, Dr. Adamu expanded the institution’s impact through the establishment of the Public Health Department.
The department now leads disease surveillance, environmental health advocacy, preventive healthcare services, health education and community outreach programmes, helping communities embrace healthier lifestyles while strengthening collaboration with government agencies and development partners.
She also introduced Electronic Medical Records, reducing dependence on paper documentation, improving operational efficiency and supporting environmentally responsible administrative practices.
Ongoing renovation of hospital wards, construction of modern critical care facilities and upgrading of service areas have equally improved patient care while enhancing environmental standards within the institution.
Dr. Adamu’s unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship culminated in a landmark achievement in 2025 when the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, was recognised by the Federal Ministry of Health through SERVICOM as the Cleanest Hospital in Nigeria.
The prestigious recognition underscored the hospital’s outstanding performance in environmental sanitation, effective waste management, patient safety and quality healthcare delivery.
