Delta govt promises improved welfare for riverine communities

The special adviser to Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa on Environment and Marine Transport, Hon Daniel Yingi has assured riverine communities in Delta state of more attention from the state government this year.

Yingi gave the assurance in Okpokunou town, Burutu local government area while celebrating New Year for children of Okpokunou community.
He said he would continue to use his privileged position in government to attract more development to the community.
He urged that the indigenes should continue to support the efforts of the state government to massively develop the riverine communities.
He also advised the children to shun social vices, adding that they should take their education very seriously.
