Yobe traders lament soaring food prices, resort to prayer
By Grace Samuel
The recent removal of fuel subsidies has triggered significant challenges, particularly with the soaring costs of essential commodities, including food items, in Yobe State.
This economic strain is placing immense pressure on local traders, who are grappling with the impact of these price hikes.
In response to these difficulties, there have been calls for collaborative efforts from the federal, state, and local governments to establish committees aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by Nigerians.
In a display of solidarity and faith, traders have come together to seek divine intervention to alleviate the economic hardships gripping the nation.
The UMAPO Potiskum chapter in Yobe State organized a prayer session, seeking Allah’s assistance in navigating Nigeria through its current economic challenges.
Alhaji Nasiru Mato, the Chairman of the UMAPO Potiskum chapter, elucidated that the prayers were intended to beseech Allah’s forgiveness for the economic hardship prevailing in the country and to seek guidance for a brighter future, aiming to make Nigeria a better place for all its citizens.
