5th Annual Agric Summit Africa to hold on Nov. 8

By Rasheedat Oladele

Agric Summit Africa (ASA), a renowned contributor to the agricultural sector, is pleased to announce the upcoming 5th edition of its annual event.

Scheduled for November 8, 2023, in Lagos, Nigeria, this year’s event bears the theme, “Empowering Innovations: A Confluence of Capital, Vision, and Agribusiness Enterprise.”

Dr. Shola Obikanye, the Group Head of Agric and Solid Minerals, emphasized that since its inaugural edition in 2019, ASA has played a pivotal role in addressing critical challenges within Nigeria’s agricultural landscape.

It has consistently convened influential figures from diverse sectors to deliberate and explore innovative solutions for the industry’s hurdles.

The initiative has rightfully earned its reputation as a cornerstone event for the agricultural sector in sub-Saharan Africa.

Dr. Obikanye declared that, in celebration of its fifth anniversary, ASA has chosen to lead with innovation and change, aligning with its longstanding advocacy.

“This year, ASA’s organizers will introduce an incubator-style investors’ deal room, which, alongside insightful discussions, offers agribusiness entrepreneurs the opportunity to showcase their innovative concepts and secure the necessary funding and business support for scaling.”

This unique addition provides a platform for promising agro-innovators to present their transformative business solutions to a panel of industry experts, with the potential to secure grants of up to N50 million and financing options totaling up to N1 billion.

The driving force behind ASA AgroPitch 2023 is rooted in ASA’s commitment to financing Nigeria’s agriculture sector and propelling the change necessary for progress.

By injecting substantial capital at the SME level, ASA champions the movement towards shaping a sustainable agricultural future for Nigeria.

This initiative warmly welcomes all promising agropreneurs to join this noble endeavor and establish themselves as pioneers of agricultural innovation.

To participate in ASA AgroPitch 2023, agribusiness owners interested can submit their applications through the ASA website at www.agricsummit.org. Follow the two-step application process for an opportunity to significantly expand your agribusiness.
