Victims of the fire incident which occurred at the Gwarimpa neighbourhood market have sought the intervention of the FCT Minister, Muhammad Musa Bello to enable them resume business in the market.
On February 4, 2021, fire engulfed Gwarimpa market where shops containing goods got burnt to ashes.
Secretary of the traders, Aliyu Ali, made the call during a chat with City News, yesterday in Abuja.
He said the market, located around Tipper Garage by Third Avenue, Gwarimpa used to be a source of fresh foodstuffs to the residents in the area, and also a source of livelihood to many.
Ali said, “On the day of the tragedy, the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu commiserated with us.
“One of our members lost his life while about two others were injured.
“We are, therefore, pleading with the minister to assist us because most of us can no longer feed themselves and their families.”
