Technology Engineers train 100 youths on fabrication of agric machines

The Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering (NATE) says 100 youths have benefited in the association’s training and seminar on fabrication of some agricultural machines.

The Chairman of NATE, Lagos Branch, Mr Kayode Ibidapo, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Thursday.

He said the aim was to key into fabrication of some agricultural machines such as egg incubator, industrial and scaled down rice de-stoning machine, coconut de-shelling machine, castor seed de-husking machine and automatic mains failure machine.

“The association did not only engage in fabrication of these machines, but was also involved in organising trainings and seminars for youths.

“The goal is to empower the youths so they can stand on their own, be established and as such help to eradicate poverty in the society,” Ibidapo said.

The chairman said that the association was faced with challenges such as finance and high cost of equipment to assist interested youths willing to key into the fabrication in their training process.

“The association has resolved to collaborate with organisations and individuals who can sponsor some of the youths for the training.

“The sponsorship can be in the form of paying for their training and buying them the necessary equipment or both,” he said

Ibidapo appealed to government at all levels to look into what the association was doing and render necessary support to get more youths out of the streets and get them established.
