The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Taraba State, has flagged off the Green Taraba Initiative at the NYSC City Forest Initiative Programme.
The flagging off occurred on Saturday at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Jalingo, the capital of the state.
Speaking at the event, the commissioner of the ministry Hajiya Aishat Barde emphasized the critical role of corp members in the fight against climate change and environmental discourse.

She used the opportunity to appreciate
the governor of the state for his leadership in spearheading environmental protection,conservation, and restoration in the state.
She said that this initiative to start a climate change and Renewable Energy Advocacy is a welcome development.
She pledged to work with all organisations towards achievement of the Ministry’s mandate.
In furtherance to her commitment, she thanked the state coordinator and the entire management of National Youth Service Corp for their relentless support in embracing Green Taraba Initiative
