South Africa, Tanzania honour Nigerian female maritime lawyer

Nigerian maritime lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Jean Chiazor Anishere, has been honoured for her commitment and performance in altering the tides of maritime law in Africa by Women in Law South Africa (WOZA) and the Pan-African Women Economic Summit (PAWES), Tanzania respectively.


The events which held concurrently recently saw her awarded with “Top 3 in Best African Law Firm” by WOZA and “the Progressive Leadership Award” by PAWES.


Anishere who was the immediate past Continental President for Women in Maritime Africa (WIMA) was Also named the Ist runner up, “Best In Marine and Environmental Award”.

Responding to the PAWES Awards, she said, “ I thank you very much for the honour bestowed on me today as the immediate past continental President of African Women in Maritime (WIMAfrica)”.

According to PAWES, “this honour is in recognition of your outstanding performance, commitment and positive impact as it has to do with your exceptional leadership in changing the narratives and perception within your organisation and the continent at large”.

PAWES is an organisation that focuses on building a transformative economy in the entrepreneurial ecosystem for Africa while WOZA is the only stand-alone awards platform recognising the achievements of women in the legal profession in both South Africa and the African continent.
