Ondo flood: Zubaida visits victims, advocates collaboration with NEMA

The Director General of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, has paid a working visit to Ondo State for on the-spot-assessment of the recent flood in the state.

While meeting the State Deputy Governor, Mr. Olayide Adelami,
the NEMA boss called for enhancing collaboration between NEMA and the state towards addressing emergency situations.

Zubaida commended the collaboration between the agency andA the state government through SEMA, in areas such as flood season sensitization.

She equally encouraged communities to take proactive measures in disaster risk reduction to minimize the impact of future disasters.

In his response, the deputy governor expressed gratitude for NEMA’s contiued support to the state and urged citizens to pay attention to early warnings from uthoritities.

He also highlighted the importance of avoiding construction on waterways and ensuring proper wasre management and drainage maintenance all the time.
