NOA dialogues with public to end open defecation in Plateau

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has said that it had opened dialogue with the Plateau populace to end open defecation in the state.
Mrs Kaneng Pam-Hworo, the state director of NOA in Plateau, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday, in Jos.
She said that officers of the NOA had been educating the people in the 17 Local Government Areas of the state on the need to desist from open defecation and the importance of keeping their environment clean.
Pam–Hworo revealed that there had been an appreciable level of compliance from the various LGAs, as houses without toilets were made to erect community toilets.
She advised Nigerians to key into the policy of ending open defecation as the act was highly detrimental to the population.
“Defecate in toilets only, and not in the open as the act of open defecation, asides from making the environment dirty, is known to be responsible for most ailments,” she said.
