Nigeria, S/Arabia ink $10m deal to enhance meat, soybean exports

By Faridat Salifu

Nigeria has entered a $10 million agreement with Saudi Arabia through the Commodities Development Initiative (CDI) to boost exports of high-quality red meat and soybeans.

The deal involves P and I Energy Consult, the owners of Jurassic Abattoir, which will focus on producing premium cattle and sheep meat products for the Saudi market.

Under this collaboration, CDI will facilitate access to markets in Saudi Arabia, aiming to strengthen Nigeria’s presence in the global agricultural sector.

Anyebe Idoga, managing director of P and I Energy Consult, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating that it aligns with the nation’s goals to improve infrastructure and systems to access international markets, starting with Saudi Arabia.

Roland Oroh, managing director of CDI, noted that this investment will enhance Nigeria’s capacity to produce high-quality meat for export, contributing to the country’s economic growth.
