NCF embarks on cleanup exercise, sensitisation to Lagos communities

By Nneka Nwogwugwu

The Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) has carried out an environmental clean up exercise in Mushin, Lagos, urging for a cleaner environment to curb the epidemic.

The foundation on Thursday said that the exercise is part of Clean Our World (COW) project organised by the foundation in partnership with the Oando Foundation and Sumitomo Chemical.

Head, Environmental Education, NCF, Abidemi Balogun told The Guardian, that the group was in the area to sensitise the community on how to properly manage their waste, building on the success story of the first phase and now having additional schools joining the second phase.

Balogun further stated that the people need to be sensitised on how to manage their waste properly and they need to also know that a clean environment is very important to their wellbeing.

“Also, the essence of coming to the community is because we need the children to be healthy.”
