Minister, private partners strategies on national clean cooking method

The Minister of State for Environment, Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako, and representatives of Burn Manufacturing and Atmosfair Climate & Sustainability Ltd have met and strategies on how to adopt and implement national clean cooking method.

The minister was accompanied to the round-table discussion in Kano by the State Commissioner for Environment in Kano State, Nasiru Garo, and other dignitaries.
Dr. Salako led the charge on this initiative, which attempts to encourage the nation as a whole to adopt clean cooking methods.

The minister’s visit provided an opportunity for him to gain first-hand insight into production processes and products of cooking oil manufacturers. His presence , further solidified the collaboration between the government and private sector in advancing environmental sustainability.

Salako also inaugurated Atmosfair’s new factory in Kano, marking a milestone in the company’s efforts to scale up clean cooking solutions in the region.

Whike on the visit, the minister continued his 2024 Green Resolutions initiative by planting trees in the North West, furthering his commitment to environmental conservation.

This follows similar tree-planting activities he has undertaken in the South South, North Central, and South West regions. With only the South East and North East regions remaining, Dr. Salako is on track to fulfill his pledge to plant trees nationwide, as announced in his January 1, 2024, broadcast.

The visiting day concluded with an audience with the minister meeting the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuff who expressed his administration’s strong commitment to environmental sustainability.

The governor equally assured the Minister that Kano State is dedicated to becoming the capital of climate action in Nigeria.
