LASEPA seals two Lagos hospitality outfits over noise pollution

By Awyetu Asabe Hope

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed two hospitality establishments in Lagos over persistent noise pollution and other environmental violations.

The affected facilities are Westgate Arena Club in Olowora, Kosofe Local Government Area, and Dave Premium and Suites in Alapere, Ketu.

In a statement posted on its official X handle on Tuesday, LASEPA said the enforcement followed the directive of the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, as part of the state government’s efforts to enforce environmental laws and protect public health.

The agency said both establishments repeatedly breached environmental regulations, particularly noise pollution standards, despite receiving abatement notices and other compliance directives.

LASEPA General Manager, Babatunde Ajayi, said the agency would intensify enforcement against violators and urged businesses, especially hospitality and entertainment operators, to comply with environmental regulations to promote a cleaner, healthier and more liveable Lagos.
