Lagos club sealed over noise pollution

By Abdullahi Lukman

A joint task force from the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps and the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) sealed the Light House Club on Admiralty Way, Lekki, on Monday, July 21, 2025, over violations of noise pollution regulations.

The action was confirmed in a statement shared via social media by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab.

He noted that the club was shut down after repeatedly ignoring official warnings about excessive noise levels.

Wahab stated that the closure would remain in place until the club fully complies with environmental standards, including installing proper soundproofing and meeting LASEPA’s approved noise limits.

He emphasized that the state’s environmental laws must be taken seriously, adding, “The rights of residents to enjoy a peaceful environment come before any commercial interest.”
