Gov Radda launches climate change competition for Katsina pupils

By Abdullahi Lukman
The Katsina State Government has introduced a climate change competition aimed at encouraging pupils to demonstrate their understanding of environmental issues.

The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dikko Radda, Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement, noting that the initiative is organised under the Katsina State Climate Change programme through the Radda Green Prize Initiative.

According to him, the competition is designed to promote climate awareness and environmental responsibility among young people.

Participants are required to create short video presentations based on climate-related quotations from the governor’s speeches, showcasing knowledge of climate change adaptation, mitigation, and environmental stewardship.

He added that the initiative aligns with the administration’s vision of building a climate-resilient and environmentally sustainable Katsina State.

Winners of the contest will receive the Governor Dikko Radda Green Prize, which includes cash rewards, certificates, and special recognition.

Entries will be assessed by a panel of experts who will evaluate participants’ understanding of climate issues and their commitment to environmental action.

Interested students are to submit their applications www.govdikkogreencompetition.com on or before April 10.

Kaula-Mohammed encouraged eligible pupils to take part and contribute ideas toward advancing Nigeria’s climate agenda.
