FRSC, Ondo motorists exchange table water for accident-free Yuletide

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ondo State has stepped up efforts to promote road safety during the Yuletide season by engaging motorists on safe driving practices and distributing bottled water along the Ilesha–Akure–Owo highway.

Led by State Sector Commander, Dr. Samuel Ibitoye, the initiative aimed to encourage patience, adherence to traffic regulations, and defensive driving among travelers during the busy Christmas period.

The distribution of water was intended to keep drivers refreshed and alert on long-distance journeys.

“This is part of an advocacy programme for all motorists. The water will help them quench their thirst and drive with care. Motorists must avoid unnecessary speeding, overloading, and road rage to ensure safe travel for all,” Ibitoye said.

He also advised drivers to minimize distractions, adopt defensive driving techniques, and obey traffic laws throughout the holiday period, wishing all travelers a safe Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Motorists praised the initiative, noting that such measures would encourage more caution on the highways and help reduce accidents during the festive season.
