COVID-19: Second jab of Astrazeneca vaccine lands in Bauchi

Bauchi State on Saturday, received their second jabs of Astrazeneca vaccine of COVID-19.

Speaking after receiving the jab, the state Governor, Bala Mohammed expressed his gratitude to all the state stakeholders for the success of the vaccination exercise.

He disclosed that the state had achieved 97.9 per cent coverage of the vaccination through collaborative effort.

Muhammed urged for more collaboration between the Federal and State government to ensure that more vaccines can be attained to cover the rest of citizens.

NAN reports that the Chairman, Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (BASPHCDA), Dr Rilwanu Mohammed, who spoke earlier, noted that a large number of Bauchi residents were responding positively to the vaccine.

Muhammed revealed that the vaccination have already 97.9per cent of the total residents of the state during the first exercise.

“We have 97.9 per cent coverage and we have about 55,000 doses of vaccines in our hand today,” he said.
