The Fedral Government of Nigeria has unveiled a ‘buy now and pay later’ portal to ease the adoption of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) regarded as a viable alternative to petrol.
The car owners are at liberty to opt for pay later option for the conversion cost.
This is contained in a statement by the National Orientation Agency (NOA), through its official X handle on Tuesday. The new website would allow Nigerian car owners including other categories of vehicles to convert their petrol powered vehicles to CNG.
The government stated that the pay later option is to allow vehicle owners convert it now and start paying the conversion cost later through affordable monthly instalment at a competitive rate.

This initiative comes as the federal government through the Presidential CNG initiative expands conversion centres cross the country. The PCNGi have launched conversion centres in Abuja, Lagos, Abeokuta, Ekiti and in other states across the country in the past couple of months.
Checks revealed that it costs between N150,000 and N350,000 to purchase the conversion kit for a petrol powered vehicle to CNG depending on the size, nature and condition of the vehicle.
