The permanent secretary, ministry of mines and steel development, Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade says the clean energy discourse will continue to dominate the global energy mix as well as support the forecasted expansion in global economic growth.
Akinlade said this in her closing remarks on Friday, at the first edition of Nigeria Africa Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit (NAFNIS).
While speaking on the success of the summit, Akinlade said “our minds have been assailed by torrents of ideas, information, statistics, interpretations, and visions.
“There is indeed plenty to reflect upon and, if this in any way enhances our individual and collective contributions to meeting the global natural resources and energy challenges, then the seminar can truly be adjudged a success.” She said
“As we have heard over the past three days, there are abundant natural resources around to meet global needs for generations to come, and the industry must ensure, at all times, that the world’s natural resources reserves are accessed, processed, and distributed to consumers in a timely orderly, and environmentally-friendly manner.
“Numerous positions and points of view have been outlined and many messages have been delivered, covering the whole spectrum of natural resources and energy as seen from the perspective of producers, consumers, financiers, and investors alike.
Akinlade encourages Nigeria and other African countries to be keen on clean energy security.
“Nigeria and indeed Africa needs to be up-to-speed in the drive for Clean Energy security, both in production and consumption.
Recall that Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Mr. Olamilekan Adegbite on Wednesday urged ministers to collaborate as the world shifts away from fossil fuel to clean and renewable energy.
