SunPawa Energy has announced plans to equip 30,000 households with solar systems In a bid to tackle the ongoing power shortages in Nigeria.
SunPawa Energy is one of the energy firms shortlisted by the Rural Electrification Agency of Nigeria for the Solar Home System Output-Based Funds component.
The company’s Managing Director, Mr. Odera Ozoka, revealed this initiative during an interview with journalists on Monday, in Abuja.
The project aims to provide sustainable solutions in the renewable energy sector, focusing on bringing reliable electricity to Nigerians, particularly those in rural areas.
Ozoka emphasized the importance of this initiative for economic growth, saying , “As an entrepreneur, we look for ways to make people have access to reliable electricity, thereby increasing Nigeria’s economic growth exponentially. The initiative will help curb the power shortages across the country.”
According to Ozoka, SunPawa Energy is committed to ensuring that off-grid electricity reaches many Nigerian homes.
“The company’s goal is to distribute Solar Home System products and off-grid solutions that will benefit widows, students, and farmers,” he explained.
He noted that therollout has already begun in six pilot states: Adamawa, Anambra, Kaduna, Kwara, Kogi, and Delta State.
Not quite long, the initiative was also launched in Katsina, with plans to expand across all six geopolitical zones of Nigeria.
This initiative, part of the Nigerian Electrification Project, aims to provide nationwide energy access to rural communities at exceptionally affordable rates.
With total focus on renewable energy and targeting underserved areas, SunPawa Energy is poised to make a significant impact on Nigeria’s power sector, bring light and economic opportunities to thousands of households across the country, Ozoka declared.
