Universities are essential for teaching students how to conduct research and take action as the globe transforms from a linear to a circular economy. Collaboration between the university community and other external stakeholders, including the public and private sectors, is necessary to harness this crucial role and ignite execution.
The Igbinedion University Center for Climate Change and SDGs is working with Natural Eco Capital, a proponent of eco waste-to-wealth, to raise awareness of and scale circular economy solutions that benefit the immediate, local, and state economies and people in order to advance the circular economy movement at the university, Okada, and Edo State as a whole.
The Coca-Cola Foundation gave a plastic baling machine to Natural Eco Capital as part of the CYCLEPLAST Project, which was overseen by the Nigeria Climate Innovation Centre. Natural Eco Capital also established the Circular Economy Club in collaboration with Igbinedion University.
Natural Green Capital claims that since the start of its activities through its eco waste-to-wealth flagship in 2020, it has recycled 16 million plastic bottles to remove them from the environment.
