Governor Ododo kick starts distribution 25 trucks of fertilizer to farmers in Kogi

Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, has started distribution of 25 trucks of fertilizer to farmers across the state.
At the inaugural ceremony which took place at weekend in Lokoja, the governor said that the initiative is part of his administration’s efforts to enhance food production and bolster agricultural security.
Governor Ododo underscored the importance of equitable distribution, warning against the diversion and exclusion of genuine farmers from the initiative.
He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the agricultural sector, describing the fertilizer distribution as a significant step toward fulfilling his dedication to the state’s development.
The governor also emphasized the critical role agriculture plays in Nigeria’s economic recovery, citing Kogi State’s vast land resources, abundant water bodies, and strong political will as key assets for agricultural investment.
He directed that 50 percent of the current supply be allocated to farmers in the Ibaji and Bassa Local Government Areas, where there are significant clusters of agricultural activity.
The governor pledged further support to genuine farmers across the state and praised President Bola Tinubu for his efforts to revitalize Nigeria’s economy by incentivizing agricultural production.
I his address during the ceremony, the state’s Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Timothy Ojomah, expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for his proactive interventions, noting that this initiative position Kogi State as a leading hub for agricultural production in Nigeria.
In the same vein, George Ogirima, Managing Director of the Kogi State Agricultural Development Project, also highlighted that the federal government’s provision of fertilizer aligns with the governor’s vision to transform the state’s agricultural landscape.
