NESREA DG tasks 108 inducteess on professional ethics

National Environmental Standards And Regulatory Enforcement Agency (NESREA) has enjoined the newly accreditted 108 environmental consultants to uphold the highest standard of professionalism an ethics in carrying out their statutory responsibilities.

The Director General NASREA, Dr. Innocent Barikor gave the charge on Friday in Abuja, at a one-day hybrid induction workshop organised for the newly accreditted environment consultants, with support of European Union (EU) delegation.

Addressing the inductees, he said, ”This is a call to be vigilant and proactive in addressing environmental challenges, and a call to collaborte with NASREA and other stakeholders in fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and sustainability.”

Barikor also highlighted the importance of the environmental consultants in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of environmental impacts, and in ensuring compliance with environmental laws and standards.

His words: ”You will be our eyes and ears on the ground; help us to monitor, evaluate and improve our environmental practices across various sectors.

”Your work will contribute tosafeguarding our natural resources, protecting public health, and promoting sustainable development.”

In his contribution, the Programme Officer for the European Union who addressed the inductees virtually, Mr. Godfrey Ogbemudia, sid the agency will continue to support NASREA through the provision of technicl assitance in a way that would enhance national development.
