The Niger State Government has received additional two thousand (2000) agricultural equipment to enhance agricultural output and uphold the national policy on food security across the state.
This was disclosed through a statement released on Wednesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Bologi Ibrahim.
According to the statement, the delivered equipment comprises 500 large capacity tractors, 500 harvesters of various sizes, and 1000 assorted agricultural and irrigation implements.

The statement further stated that the program is designed to bolster the creation of 50,000 hectares of fully irrigated food production centers in Niger State, furthering the state’s efforts to expand food production, foster wealth generation, and generate employment opportunities for its populace.
Upon full implementation, this ground-breaking initiative aims to eliminate agricultural labour challenges, including reducing post-harvest losses by up to 50%.
Recall that Niger state government had entered into an agreement with Origin Group, a diversified agriculture value chain organization.
Origin Group, through its Total Agricultural Support Program (TASP) in partnership with Campo Company of Brazil, is spearheading a specialized agro support initiative in the state.
The administration led by Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago remains steadfast in its commitment to revolutionizing agriculture in Niger State, with a vision to establish the state as a pivotal agricultural hub within Nigeria.
