Chairman Encourages Unity, Teamwork as Katsina State ACReSAL Gathers for Quarterly Meeting

The chairman of Katsina State ACReSAL Steering Committee, Alhaji Musa Adamu Funtua has emphasized the critical importance of teamwork and cooperation among all stakeholders involved in the ACReSAL project.

The chairman made the emphasis at the recently convened quarterly meeting of the Steering Committee in Katsina.

Adamu Funtua’s address resonated with the shared commitment of the committee members to work harmoniously towards the common goal of addressing erosion and watershed challenges in Katsina State.

In his opening remarks, Chairman Funtua urged all parties to come together in good faith and to maintain transparent communication regarding ACReSAL activities.

He stressed that a united front and open dialogue would be essential in achieving the project’s objectives effectively.

Highlighting the urgency of the committee’s mission, he encouraged all members to use the meeting as an opportunity to assess the progress of the project and provide valuable feedback.

Moreover, Adamu Funtua reminded attendees that the success of the ACReSAL project depended on their ability to review project progress comprehensively and offer guidance to the Project Management Unit (PMU).

The committee members were urged to ensure that all activities outlined in the project documents were accomplished efficiently and within the stipulated timeframes.

Adhering to project institutional arrangements and expediting the completion of awards and related studies were also underscored as crucial tasks for the committee.

Chairman Funtua stressed the significance of adhering to these guidelines to maintain the project’s integrity and progress.

As he addressed the assembly, Alhaji Musa Adamu Funtua emphasized that the path to a successful project execution lay in teamwork and cooperation.

He highlighted that a collaborative approach would not only ensure the effective implementation of the project but also pave the way for future partnerships and endeavors.

The chairman further elaborated on the committee’s responsibilities, which encompass decision-making, providing guidance, and policy support to facilitate and catalyze project implementation.

Additionally, the committee would be responsible for making financial recommendations, including reviewing, amending, and approving annual budgets and work plans.

A key role of the committee is to scrutinize Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) reports and interim reviews, making informed decisions on course corrections, determining which activities to continue or discontinue, and assessing changes in project financing as needed.

Alhaji Musa Adamu Funtua highlighted that these responsibilities align with the broader goal of addressing erosion and watershed challenges in the region.

The chairman emphasized that the committee’s multi-sectoral approach would be crucial in achieving this goal, ensuring that Katsina State is well-prepared to participate in project activities according to readiness criteria.
