Ugandan environmental activist Vanessa Nakate has blamed world leaders for causing more havoc through climate change in Africa countries.
Vanessa Nakate stated this on Tuesday while addressing some youths and other stakeholders during the Youth4Climate event in the Italian city of Milan, BBC reports.
About four hundred climate activists from 180 countries were invited to Italy’s financial capital for a three-day Youth4Climate summit that will send its recommendations to a major United Nations climate summit in Glasgow, Scotland, that begins on Oct. 31. But participants are demanding more accountability from leaders and a bigger official role for young people.
While speaking with some delegates, Vanessa said that world leaders were lost and the planet had been damaged.

“Africa pollutes little but suffers a lot from the climate crisis,” she said.
Ms Nakate also asked who was going to pay for the environmental destruction.
The Swedish climate activist, Greta Thunberg, also accused world leaders of words that sound great but lead to no action.
She ended her speech by leading chants of “What do we want? Climate justice. When do we want it? Now!”
The best ideas will go to the Cop26 summit in Glasgow next month.
