500 women farmers benefit from agro marketing empowerment

No fewer than 500 women farmers and agriculture entrepreneurs have been empowered on commodity and grading skills for competitive marketing of their produce, under the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF).

Speaking at the a regional workshop on inclusiveness in Kaduna State, the Director General of Nigerian Agric Business Group (NABG), Dr. Manzo Mairiga, said the workshop was to educate participants on the challenges of climate change.

According to him, climate change is the most critical challenge of farming across the world.

Mairiga also informed that  the workshop, which is funded by BMGF, as well as the Federal Government and participating states, will educate participants on commodity standouts, best farming practices and commodities grading.

He also noted that the empowerment of these women farmers will also give them competitiveness advantage when it comes to marketing their products.
