29TH NCWR: Minister calls for partners in creations of dams

The Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman H. Adamu, has called for collaboration amongst the three tiers of government and the stakeholders in the water sector, to harness the rich potentials of the country to maximize the benefits of the huge capital investments in the completion of dams, water supply and irrigation infrastructure nationwide.
Adamu made the call on Thursday in Sokoto, while delivering his keynote address at the Opening Ceremony of the 29th Regular Meeting of the National Council on Water Resources (NCWR).
The minister said access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene is a basic human need for good health and well-being which is in line with achieving Sustainable Development Goal-6 by target year 2030.
The flagship water projects and programmes implemented through the Federal Ministry of Water Resources has improved access to potable water from the variety of applications and improvements in the Water Sanitation and Hygiene Sector.
